Sunday Service in Skid Row
Showing Up, Lifting Up and Building Love
Every Sunday at 10:00 AM, DO GOOD International meets at 531 Towne Ave (5th & Towne) on Skid Row in Los Angeles to serve people experiencing homelessness.
Project Overview
Every Sunday morning, while most of Los Angeles is still deciding between pancakes or waffles, our team is already in motion - loading vehicles with hygiene kits, blankets, clean socks, water, pet food, and Humanity Packs. By the time we arrive on Skid Row, the people we serve are already waiting. Not because they have to - but because they know we'll be there.
We serve women and children, veterans, seniors, people with disabilities, at-risk youth, and immigrants - many of whom live with mental illness or addiction. We collaborate with other community-based organizations to provide hot meals, hygiene supplies, pet food, blankets, and street medicine through our partnership with Wound Walk.
How It All Started
Amy and Kevin have been serving together since 2018 through Catch 21; Kevin is known as the Mayor of Skid Row. Los Angeles is the epicenter of homelessness in the United States, and Kevin's own lived experience drives the heart of this mission.
Catch 21 became a hub. 5th & Towne became a Place for Giving. And Sundays became a promise - a weekly commitment to show up, lift up, and build love in one of the hardest places in America.
Today, we operate at two locations: 5th & Towne and Catch 21, ensuring we reach more people across the neighborhood.

Humanity Packs
There was a man who used to show up every week - angry, sometimes violent, always on the edge. Most people avoided him. We didn't. We kept showing up. We kept offering what we had.
One day, he was placed in housing. And the next time we saw him, he was a completely different person. The anger was gone. He looked at us like he finally believed someone actually cared.
That's why we do this. Not for the easy moments - for the ones that take years of trust.

The Power of Connection
Trust isn't built overnight. It's built by showing up when no one else does - week after week, month after month, year after year. That consistency is what opens doors that were previously locked shut.
Over time, that trust leads to real change:
- People accepting medical help they once refused
- People asking about housing for the first time
- People taking steps toward recovery
- People rebuilding community - one Sunday at a time
Consistency is the missing link between survival and stability.
Your Gift Goes to Work on the Streets
We don't take government or taxpayer money. We don't pay ourselves salaries or take bonuses, so donations are directed to the people we serve.
